1. Summary
Data
ONTAP® 7.2.2 introduces some significant improvements to
SnapMirror over Fibre Channel functionality in the area of expanded switch
qualification. 2.
What’s New Starting with Data ONTAP 7.2.2,
the SnapMirror over Fibre Channel feature will be directly orderable via the
Quote Tool without formal approval from product management. The switch matrix
for SnapMirror over Fibre Channel has been expanded and can be found at the
following link: http://now.netapp.com/NOW/knowledge/docs/switches/sm_fc_switch_support/ NOTE: Only the
switches and firmware versions listed in the switch matrix are supported for
SnapMirror over Fibre Channel. To request support for any other switch

V3000, FAS6000, V6000, FAS980, and GF980 series platforms. Fibre Channel is one of the supported transport types for
SnapMirror. The standard SnapMirror license is required to enable SnapMirror
over Fibre Channel.
Software Subscription Plans NetApp highly recommends that customers
purchase a Software Subscription Plan (SSP) for SnapMirror. SnapMirror is

automatically configure the appropriate 2-Port 4Gb Fibre Channel PCI-e HBA
(X1124A-R6-C) or 2-Port 4Gb Fibre
Channel PCI-X NIC (X1024-R5-C). Products need to be validated against the NetApp
Safety/EMI Regulatory Compliance List prior to order submission. The list is
